Great portions, awesome food, amazing customer service, super cute cafe!

Amazing sandwiches and sides. But just look at these desserts!!!

I highly recommend Elke’s! I can’t believe it took me this long to leave a review because I’ve been a patron for years. This is my favorite cafe in Allen, and I usually suggest we go here when we’re going out for lunch. When we got married in 2014, we were looking for a place for our rehearsal dinner, and I knew I wanted it to be at Elke’s. We were able to rent out the entire cafe in the evening and it was the perfect space. They have cute floral arrangements on the table all the time, so our guests thought we had decorated for the rehearsal dinner! The service is always friendly, and the food never fails to be delicious. My favorite thing to order is the chicken salad sandwich with the Greek pasta salad as a side.

The food is exceptional. They have interesting dishes, not your run of the mill foods to choose from. They are prompt and have reasonable prices. The service is awful. The front counter employees are extremely rude and the act like you are inconveniencing them by placing an order. The only reason we are cautious about not going back is the attitude of employees. Hopefully that can be improved though.

Love this place! The cafe itself is pretty casual and what I would expect from a cafe. However, the food is delicious! I always order the Elke’s Nutty Creation sandwich and it’s the perfect mix of sweet and savory with a little kick. I don’t live very close by, but absolutely worth the drive.

Love this place, love the options and the comfortable atmosphere, I only deducted one star because my husband commented that he felt the lady taking our order made him feel that she was frustrated that she had to do so, and that is not the first time he has made that comment after ordering there.

Comfortable surroundings and delicious home cooked meals and the best desserts in town!

Great hidden gem! Awesome food and service! Sit down and eat, get it to go, or visit the store, all good options. Soups, salads, sandwiches, and incredible deserts, all fresh baked. Stop by, you'll be glad you did!

Elke's is a lovely little soup and sandwich restaurant. They have specials of the day and a great standing menu. I have eaten here several times and never had the same thing twice. Every time, the food has been superb. Lemonade and tea come with free refills, but soda must be purchased by the bottle. The ambiance is rustic and warm. If it is a teacher staff development day, it will be very very busy. Don't miss this lovely gem off a restaurant!

A very nice refuge of good homecooking that's hearty and healthy in East Allen. The selection of cupcakes and pies especially is extraordinary. Feels like something you'd look forward to year round when Grandma goes all out for Christmas. Plenty of options available for dinners of various tastes, all-in-all it's classic Americana fare, but don't expect grease and deep fried junk here - it's the best recipes you'd expect to find in a high-end American cookbook. One complaint is the whole place is self-service, and it's also a bit small so it can get pretty cramped when you're getting up and down and moving about to refill your drink, get napkins, etc.

I think I may have gone in with too high of an expectation. The food was good even though I'd say just slightly over priced. I was expecting it to me a bit more euro but it wasn't. Good selection of sandwiches though and I'd stop by the little store side for some gift ideas.

Love the food and everyone is super friendly!Th special each day are always good. Love the Butternut Squash soup! You can buy cooked, and/or frozen dinners to take home. Great wines, too.

Wonderful casual cafe and deli market. Delicious sandwiches, salads and soups. Sides are wonderful too. Servings are generous. Spotlessly clean and friendly speedy service. Great place to pick up lunch or dinner or a bottle of wine to have at home.

This is a nice little cafe. It has a homely, rustic feel to it. There are a nice selection of soups, salads, and sandwiches. Try the "Other Nutty": it is a weird combination of ingredients but it is very good. I was surprised how tasty I found it. The sides are good too. I tried the bacon ranch potato salad and the german potato salad. Both were tasty. Finally, the deserts were very good too. The cookies were excellent (the sprinkle sugar cookie was devine). The pecan flat pie was also good.

It's ok, but nothing special. It seems really popular. The soup was good, but the sandwich was nothing special.

Great place, I don't get there often enough but, when I do, I really enjoy the experience. Get there on Tuesdays and try their Beer-Cheese soup, I recommend it.

Excellent food. Wonderful owners. Elke's Market is a terrific, unique place to eat. We go there at least twice a week.

Great place for food, fellowship, coffee, etc. BUT Elke's needs to NOT have CNN on their monitor... this is no place to be showing fake news... get rid of it and claim your 5 star rating!

Every time me and my wife come here the food Is delicious!! Not once have we been disappointed on our food. If you haven't eaten here trust me you should stop by one day and eat.. once your done this place will be your regular place to eat. Place is clean and all the workers are nice to everyone. The owners are awesome and nice too. There food there is awesome!!! Try it you wont be disappointed!!!

This place is a hidden gem. It is very far from where we live but if you are near Allen Texas you should stop in for breakfast or lunch kind of like a small town Eatzis with great food and wine choices.

Nice friendly place. Where the locals eat. The daily special, a $12 French dip sandwich, was tiny. I left almost as hungry as I arrived. The side fruit salad was decent. I hope this special isn't the same for the rest of the menu. I'll likely not return.

Food is fresh and tasty. Warm homey environment. Fast service. Also the desserts are really good.

Very nice place, part market & part Cafe. You order at the counter and they bring the food to your table. The menu is limited, mostly sandwiches, salads, and sides, with daily specials. I selected the BLT with avacado on ciabatta bread and the Greek style pasta salad as my side. The BLT was delish and it was probably the best BLT that I've ever eaten. The side salad was excellent and very tasty. I cant wait to go back there.

Delicious sandwiches with great side salads. Also a nice little shop with some of the restaurant food prepared for take home. I can't believe it took me so long to finally go check it out.

I truly love coming to this peaceful and welcoming cafè. They are many times busy so plan ahead if you are going for lunch. My favorite is the chicken salad with a cup of fruit. The apricot chicken salad is very delicious too. The building is clean and the atmosphere is calming and clean. I am a big believer in "what the bathroom looks like so it the kitchen." I am happy to say the bathrooms are clean and nicely kept. The staff is busy but still friendly and welcoming. I love that their is still a home feel to the cafè.

This place is great!! A lot of things are made in house, like their pickles, soups... The Mega Meat sandwhich was awesome!!

It was my first time trying this place and it the food was good and unique. I enjoyed the "Other Nutty" sandwich and the carrot bisque was nice. It's a cute little family-owned place but the man that took our order at the counter was not friendly. Not exactly mean or rude either, just very dry and flat. He didn't seem happy to be there. Maybe he was having a bad day? Still I wouldn't write the place off yet since I really enjoyed my food.

Meh. I think the shop is a grossly overpriced mess but the food is pretty creative and good.

Well, if you haven't had lunch there, then you're missing a treat. This small and enjoyable place is one of my favorite lunch spots to visit. French Dip, which is served only on Monday as a lunch special is to die for. The Tuna Sandwich - fully loaded, will fill you up. Mac and cheese as a side? What more can I say? Affordable and pleasant. Hidden treasure in Allen, Tx.

First time here, was recommended by our Church Pastor. I was not dissapointed. Wonderfully fresh food. Cozy cafe, Styled wonderfully, quaint little store and deli also. Bought a few gifts for friends for Christmas. Staff members were great and welcoming. We will make this a weekly spot.
